Suliman A Giddo, President / CEO suliman@darfurpeace.org Mr. Giddo is a founding partner of DPDO. In 2009, he received a ABD from the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University. He has extensive experience in ethnic conflict resolution through participation in peace negotiations during Darfur tribal conflicts in 1980s and 1990s. He has been working on the Darfur Peace Initiative since 2003, creating close but impartial relationships with all movement leaders and other stakeholders in Sudan. In 2009, he began working as a consultant to the U.S. Special Envoy to Sudan, Scott Gration, on the State Department’s Peace Initiative in Sudan. He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Khartoum, an MBA from Strayer University, and a post-graduate diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from Fordham University. His additional training includes Disaster Management at University of Wisconsin, Conflict Resolution at Indiana-Purdue University, Human Resources at Maduri Kamaj in India, and Non-Profit Leadership at the UN University for Peace. |

Omer Ismail, Vice President / Advocacy omer@darfurpeace.org Omer Ismail, Vice President of DPDO and a key player in Darfur advocacy, is a graduate of Khartoum University where he worked as a research assistant to Dr. Mansour Khalid, the former Minister of Foreign Affairs in Sudan. In 1988 he became the Operations Manager for the United Nations Operation Life Line Sudan. He fled Sudan after the current regime took power and since then has lived as a refugee in the U.S. He returned to the United Nations to serve in Somalia from 1992 to 1994. |
