At DPDO’s Women’s Center in North Darfur, Sudan, success is named Hawa, Khadiga, Fatiah, Miriam, and Aisha.
They are some of the master craftswomen united in a cooperative enterprise to produce unique basketry. They are young women, older women, heads of households, mothers with infants – all devoted to their artistry as a means to earn income for their families’ needs.
Their Cooperative supports 275 of the hardest working women in Sudan.
