October 8- Dara for Unity and Hope

The Dara for Unity and Hope, hosted by the Darfur Peace and Development Organization (DPDO), is a private gathering for the community of Darfur activists.

Modeled after the traditional Darfuri forum for discussion of community issues, the Dara for Unity and Hope will provide the opportunity for Darfur activists to connect with one another for more effective action on behalf of the Darfuri people.

June 12- Dream for Darfur Benefit Concert

June 12, 2009- The Students for Aid Intervention in Darfur (SAID) in New York are organizing a benefit concert on June 12, 2009 from 7-10 pm at Central Valley Elementary School in Central Valley, NY.

Please join us for an informative gathering and community dance experience in aid of our sisters worldwide.

All proceeds will be donated to DPDO’s Darfur Women’s Center and Women Thrive Worldwide. Learn about the women whose lives have been devastated, the programs that are helping them to recreate their lives and the advocacy to help institute basic rights and freedoms.

April 5- DPDO basket sale in Brooklyn, NY

DPDO Spring baskets will be sold on April 5 at the following location:

Oratory Church of St. Boniface
Duffield and Willoughby Streets
Brooklyn, NY
Baskets will be sold after the 11am mass.

The baskets were handwoven at DPDO’s Women’s Center in Kassab IDP camp in North Darfur as part of an ongoing income-generation project.

March 29- Project Reversible: DPDO benefit at Joe’s Pub in Manhattan

Joe’s Pub in Manhattan is holding a benefit concert on Sunday, March 29 at 7 pm. The event is being held by Kind Monitor’s Project Reversible, a non-profit organization that helps fund organizations like the Matthew Shephard Foundation, the JED Foundation, and the Darfur Peace & Development Organization.
