Container of supplies and computers arrives in Darfur

After 15 months and nearly $40,000 in expenses for clearance, storage and transport, and a journey across the Libyan desert, the container arrived in Melit, North Darfur this past week. It will be housed at DPDO’s high school compound in El Fasher as the staging area for distribution of donated tents, textbooks, schools supplies, solar cookers and clothing to DPDO’s schools and to IDPs at Kassab and Abu Shouk camps. The distribution process will take several weeks. We’ll update the website with photos. Also, computers donated by Strayer University and part of the shipment are the core of the first computer lab in Darfur at DPDO’s Gangy High School, due to be completed in May.
