DARFUR SCHOOLS PROJECT

Deesa School of Peace

Supported as of April 2008

Teachers: 11

Staff:  4

Enrolled Students:  597

History: Deesa School was completely destroyed during the conflict. The community members joined together to construct a makeshift school, in order to provide their children with instruction. However, with no supplies, educational materials, desks, or books, daily instruction was very difficult. After DPDO sponsored Deesa School in April 2008, DPDO and Deesa community members rebuilt their classrooms using local materials and tents.
