DPDO Program Director Susan Burgess-Lent on assessment mission in Darfur

DPDO’s Program Director, Susan Burgess-Lent, is currently on a month-long assessment mission in Darfur. She has been to Khartoum, El Fasher, and is currently in Kuttum. Here she is visiting DPDO’s Women’s Center in Kassab IDP camp. One of DPDO’s major initiatives for the Women’s Center is to facilitate training programs in various areas of interest to the women of the camp. DPDO is working with Sudanese Red Crescent to establish training programs in first aid, midwifery, and literacy.

Susan will also meet with several principals of DPDO Schools during her trip. We will have new updates and photos from our schools and Women’s Center soon.
