The Little NGO That Can
Despite the expulsion of international NGOs from Sudan, DPDO continues its work in Darfur. Our programs benefit thousands of women and children who have fewer and fewer options for survival.
Each month, DPDO needs:
*$21,000 for teacher and staff salaries at the Schools of Peace to continue the education of over 8,300 children at fourteen schools. Cost per student per year averages $36.00.
* Additional annual special funds for schools: Clean Water Project = $30,000, Textbooks = $35,000, High School = $100,000
* $4,200 for solar cooker training and materials in five locations. Cost per household is $30.00.
* $27,000 to support the expansion of recovery services at Kassab and Abu Shouk Women’s Centers;
* $6,400 to maintain the administration of all programs through the Washington, DC headquarters.
* Upcoming fundraisers by DPDO supporters all over the US;
* Recent benefits - and how they did;
* Tips and tools for planning a fundraiser in your school or community.
