Where are the Tents?

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Nearly 300 donated Tents of Hope have been released from the Port of Benghazi in Libya.

Last week, large cargo boxes and trucks were prepared to transport the shipment to Darfur. The cargo also includes donated clothing, computers donated by Strayer University and library books for DPDO’s new high school in El Fasher. The tents and clothes will be distributed to schools and IDP camps  in Darfur.

Look for homepage updates as information becomes available on the delivery and distribution process.

Costs related to the truck transport and distribution process: $15,000-$18,000.

Donors, we need you now.

Hi, this is Elly Simmons, one of the originators of the Tents of Hope project (which by the way is still spreading, they want to do a whole campaign in Australia!. I was just curious if you ever raised enough money to get them over there. I know that was quite a bit to raise in this current economy. Best wishes for all you do, Elly Simmons
